Car history:
My 1968 corvette roadster, this is a project car, with all the important stuff in great shape. First off, it has a rust free bird cage, radiator support, and frame, there is minor surface rust on the frame that cleans off with a scotch bright pad. The bumbers are in great shape, the front nose rivots and bonding strips are all intact, and the door fit is amazing for a 68 roadster. The car does start and run, the motor sounds great, but the gas tank is rusted shut, so we hooked up a seperate tank with a temporary electric fuel pump so the car will run, the brake resorvoir is empty, i am going to assume the brakes will need to be reconditioned, clutch and trans are fine. There is some cracking on the drivers side fender wells. The fiber optics lite up when the key is turned on. The doors open and close very nice and smooth. All the vacumm canisters and related items are all still in place, it is missing the distributor shielding. The convertible top is bad, but the bows are in great shape. And the neatest thing of all, the TANK STICKER is still there and looks to be in amazing shape, I took a picture of it though the gas tank opening, hopefully it shows up. The miles are actual and documented with odometer statments two owners back. Now heres the story, it has been in storage for around 25 years near a friend of mine, he obtained the car from the elderly gentleman that had it in his garage, and i ended up with the car from him. It is a great car to start either a mild or full blown resto on, do to the fact that the important stuff is there and not rusty, or busted up. It is a not the original motor (from what I could tell it appears to be a 1963 corvette 327). The transmission is numbers matching.
Paint code is 992 Corvette bronze. Trim code is 425 Dark Orange/ vinyl. 81,459 miles. August 19, 2008.
